How does the compression work?
Every page is re-rendered as an optimized image at reduced quality and resolution — the same trick print-to-PDF uses. Text-heavy PDFs stay readable; image-heavy PDFs shrink the most.
Will my text still be selectable?
No — compressed pages become images, so text can no longer be selected or searched. That trade-off is what makes the big size cuts possible.
What if the result is larger than my target?
We retry at lower quality and resolution up to three times and keep the smallest result. Some PDFs simply can’t go lower without becoming unreadable.
Is my PDF uploaded to compress it?
